Our Manufacturer S&P Coil Products supplied more than 500 highly efficient Thermatile Plus Radiant Ceiling panels to Crown Hills Community College in Leicester. This is a state-of-the-art building which was part of the Leicester City Schools PFI initiative.
SPC worked with AVUS Consulting, of Corby, and C A Suthers Ltd, of Birmingham, to come up with the right specification for the heating panels.
Thermatile Plus were chosen for their quality, efficiency, versatility and attractive appearance. Sportsline panels were fitted in the college’s gym as they are constructed in a V-shaped section so that objects such as balls and shuttlecocks do not get stuck on them. Dramatic black panels were utilised in the drama department. These were created by applying a black overlay to standard panels.
Matthew Smith, Contracts Manager of C A Suthers Ltd, said:
“We installed SPC Radiant Panels and have used them before and appreciate the fact that they are straightforward to fit. They are also attractive to look at and work very well.”
Thermatile Plus is made from a corrugated aluminium panel of patented design and copper tubing on the upper surface. Low pressure hot water feeds through the circuit and transfers heat to the lower, emission surface. Insulation on the back of the panel prevents heat escaping into the ceiling void. Not restricted to standard ceiling grid sizes, the panels can be freely suspended and shaped to suit individual requirements. They are the quickest way to heat up a space and are easily controlled.
