HASL assists SPIROTECH at AUE

Association of University Engineers Conference (AUE) is the UK’s leading Estates and low carbon innovation event, showcasing the latest technologies and services for the estates management supply chain and both private and public sector energy end users.

Spirotech leads the conversion to sustainable energy usage in water conditioning. At AUE they will present new solutions that support the sustainable development of heating & cooling systems and facilitate the efficient use of energy in buildings.

Co-located with Spirotech, HASL brings together associated products from our portfolio to a diverse audience, from landlords, housing associations and commercial businesses to trade bodies, governments/public sector, and property developers. We connect these stakeholders together to discuss new technologies, and blow us in the right direction to tackle the biggest challenges of our time.

AUE Conference offers an opportunity to meet, network and make connections with the renewable and low carbon energy community with three days of uninterrupted business. Join us to drive your estates forward in 2022 and beyond.

This conference is a milestone for the Association of University Engineers, not only because we haven’t been able to have a conference since 2019 due to COVID-19, but also because we will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary!

The conference theme ‘Celebrating 50 Years: Engineering Tomorrow’s Solutions Together’ considers the complexities engineers face today, integrating new and low carbon technologies into our existing estate including listed buildings or those of historical interest and the wider environmental impact. Modern and new buildings also tend to be highly serviced therefore how these operate and are maintained is critical.

There are many challenges faced by Universities today therefore, the role of the engineer has evolved and changed significantly to that of the past. There are increasing legislative burdens as part of maintaining a compliant estate, ensuring resilience in terms of our ability to respond to events out of our control (environmental), business continuity and meeting the changing needs and expectations of our customers. The conference is about celebrating technological advancement over the last 50 years whilst being forward looking and placing ourselves in the best position to respond to future changes, needs and demands from both internal and external sources.

“The last two years have been really tough. What started as a public health crisis, soon became an incredibly intense Estates crisis, requiring a gargantuan and sustained effort to ensure our University Campuses remained safe.

During this time, your engineering team will have worked tirelessly, they will have prioritised the safety of the Estate ahead of their own development and education. Their selfless dedication requires recognition.

You now have the opportunity to support your engineers attend the 50th Association of University Engineers Annual Conference in September in Stirling. This is a special anniversary year and the first time in 3 years we have been able to meet at conference. The AUE Executive team are determined to make this a world class event. The main theme of this years event, the AUE are encouraging sector collaboration to solve shared challenges and issues.

The most significant of these issues is climate change and the drive to make our sector Net Zero Carbon. The conference will have leading speakers for our plenary sessions, Sector suppliers will be there to develop awareness of the latest solutions and the attendees share in what others are working on, the opportunity to network and learn from others.

The AUE Executive Team are requesting that you give your full support for your engineers to attend this year’s conference and really make a big success of this important opportunity for development, networking and innovation.” Billy Ferguson University of Glasgow
