Engineering Appliances Ltd design and manufacture high quality Expansion Joints based on advanced bellows technology from IWK/BOA, one of the largest manufacturers in the world and in accordance with BS ISO 15348:2000. Vast experience gained over 40 years in the application of expansion joints results in EA providing innovative design solutions to the problems of thermal expansion and pipe movement.

Technology

The company's long standing association with BOA of Switzerland and its parent company IWK enables EA to offer an unparalleled product range. Producing both thick-wall multi-ply bellows (BOA) or single ply bellows (IWK), EA can always select the most suitable technology for a given application.
Engineering Appliances is probably best known in the H&V industry supplying axial, lateral and hinged expansion joints for mechanical services in buildings, factories and production sites.

Experience

Over the past 40 years EA has utilised the vast experience of the IWK group to supply state of the art technology to the Process and Petrochemical Industries.

Special areas of expertise include expansion joints for:

IWK have produced unique design solutions for FCCU expansion joints such as their patented cassette system. Another specialty is the two-ply bellows with inter-ply sensing for highly critical fluids. At their production facilities in Karlsruhe, Germany IWK has the capacity to manufacture very large Expansion Joint assemblies. Expansion Joints up to 12metres diameter and 70 tonnes in weight have been produced.

For applications where low reactive loads are required BOA's highly flexible multi-ply bellows offer an optimum solution even at pressures up to 100 bar e.g. for cryogenic plants, steam boilers and turbines.
