In recent years, the design of entrances has evolved considerably, with high ceilings and often, extensive glazing. Mounting a door curtain above the doorway is often impossible.

Many Envirotec door curtains are being installed vertically at the sides of doorways as this 'column' arrangement offers some clear advantages.

• The 'air curtain' provided by the unit is uniform across the entire height of the doorway.
• In winter, heat is being provided at low level, further enhancing the comfort level of people passing through the air curtain.
• Often, the column is aesthetically more pleasing than a conventional 'over-door' unit.
• Pipework and services can be run at low level, or even underground, which further enhances the overall look of the installation.
• Maintenance is also made easier because the column reduces the need for ladders and scaffolding compared with an 'over-door' unit.
